Financial Liability and Deficit Clearing Policy for Units Serviced by Campus Shared Services in Research Administration
It is the intent of UC Berkeley Campus Shared Services to minimize overruns, errors in submissions, provide timely and accurate information, and provide the best possible service to the faculty/principal investigators.
The purpose of this policy is to establish accountability for deficit and financial liability, reduce deficits and provide escalation methods for units served by Campus Shared Services, ensure all groups work together in a respectful manner, and establish a process for escalation when financial liability is in question.
CSS RA has met with each unit/ORU currently served to establish the start date for the deficit reporting and other criteria in Section D of the policy.
